Maccaferri has developed prefilling solution to gabion and reno mattress when in-situ filling is not possible, inconvenient, or uneconomical, such as remote underwater application. Typical units are made with stiffener to resist deformation and are equipped with tested polyester round slings or Ώ lifting rebar to allow the filled units to be hoisted to position. Geotextile option is available coupled to the wire mesh to ensure fill containment. Prefilling saves stones, installation operation becomes effective, efficient and safer.
