Geosynthetic Conference EuroGeo 8, Lille, France, 16-18 September 2025

The 3-day event drew 600 delegates from 51 countries and 80 exhibitors/sponsors from 27 nations, theming on “Technical Challenges and Environmental Imperatives for 21st Century”. Among the 150 presentations and one keynote, 26 papers focused on the pathway of geosynthetic towards sustainability, reducing CO2 footprint, encouraging life cycle assessment, achieving energy transition, adopting recyclable materials, monitoring the circular economy, and addressing microplastics. Europe is 10 years ahead in geosynthetics; rules & regulations are now under a framework to enforce sustainability performance in future projects. Wider applications of geosynthetic will become mandatory.
